Lastly, please note that the examination fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred under any circumstances. So, make sure you’re all set before you make that payment.

Nature of examination:- Objective

So, here’s the deal, according to the Bihar Staff Selection Commission Examination Conduct Rules-2010: If BSSC receive more than 40,000 applications, BSSC is going to kick things off with a preliminary examination. If BSSC get even more applications, no worries; BSSC might divide the preliminary examination into phases. BSSC want to make sure everyone gets a fair shot!

Now, about the exam itself: as per the BSSC News, it’s going to happen in different phases. And when it comes to grading, BSSC will use the equalization process to prepare the results.

The preliminary examination is going to be a bit of a fun challenge. It’ll be objective, so you won’t have to worry about long essays. BSSC will select candidates for the main examination, and for every category-wise vacancy, BSSC will pick five times the number of candidates needed. Don’t worry; BSSC will, let you know all about the main examination in a separate advertisement.

For the preliminary exam, you’ll face one paper covering General Knowledge, which includes:

(a) General studies
(b) General science and mathematics
(c) Mental Ability Test (Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability)

Questions will be multiple-choice, and there will be a total of 150 of them. Get this - you'll score 4 marks for every correct answer, but we'll deduct 1 mark for every wrong answer. So, choose wisely! The exam will last for 2 hours and 15 minutes, and you can choose to answer in either Hindi or English. If there are any differences between the Hindi and English question papers, don't worry, the English questions will be the ones that count.

Syllabus:- Preliminary Exam Syllabus is as follows:-
