Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the position of Head Master in Bihar, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Citizenship and Residency:
    • Applicants must be citizens of India and residents of Bihar state.
  2. Educational Qualifications:
    • A post-graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university is required.
    • For candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/EWS/EBC/PH/Female categories, there is a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks.
    • Alternatively, candidates with a Fazil degree awarded by Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University, Patna/Bihar State Madrasa Education Board, and who have also passed B.Ed/B.A.D/B.Sc.D from a recognized institution are eligible.
  3. Teacher Form Examination:
    • Candidates must have passed the teacher form examination if appointed as teachers in the year 2012 or later.
    • This requirement is also applicable to teachers appointed under Zilla Parishad/Municipal Body since 2012.
  4. Efficiency Test:
    • Teachers appointed under Panchayat Raj/Municipal Body Institutions prior to 2012 must pass an efficiency test.
    • However, the provision of efficiency test/eligibility test is not applicable to teachers working in schools affiliated with various boards such as CBSE/ICSE/BSEB.
